ALL PRACTICE AND GAMES SUSPENDED UNTIL FURTHER NOTICE.
Please click on the link above for up-to-date information.
In response to Governor Newsom, the California Department of
Public Health, and the San Diego County’s safety orders earlier
this week, effective immediately we are suspending all league
activities, including practices and games, until further notice.
While we do not have events including 250+ people, the nature of softball does not
allow social distancing of six feet or more. Our girls and their
family’s health and safety is our number one priority.
The California Department of Public Health stated, “The timely
implementation of aggressive strategies that create social
distance and those that reduce close contact of people not
regularly together, including limiting gatherings, has proven
effective in prior pandemics at delaying rates of transmission
and reducing illness and death.”
We understand that this news is disappointing for all involved
and you likely have questions about the remainder of the season.
The VGS Board of Directors will continue to evaluate the
situation and we will stay in communication with you as things
progress regarding the possibility of playing in May.
You may also have questions about make-up games and
volunteer shifts. Please be assured that we are aware of your
concerns and are actively working on a solution. Please stay safe and informed!
